  • d/Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students in Illinois

    The purpose of this study is to gather student support needs and characteristics from teachers of the deaf across the state of IL in an effort to describe the general population as well as inform teacher preparation and/or needed professional development.

  • Parent-child interactions

    The purpose of this study is to observe how parents interact with their young autistic children ages 3-6. Deaf and hearing parents and children from all over the United States are welcome to enroll. Participation entail completion of three online questionnaires and the recording of a short video of parents and children playing with toys. Participation is fully remote and at home and compensation is $100 in gift cards.

  • Zoom study of autistic children ages 6-14

    This study aims to understand how autistic children identify emotions conveyed through facial expressions and how this relates to language exposure. Hearing children from monolingual English-speaking families and bilingual ASL-English families located anywhere in the US are invited to participate. Participation is fully remote and entails two one-hour Zoom sessions. Compensation is available of up to $30 in gift cards.
